Job summary

DPR Construction in Austin, TX is seeking a drywall apprentice to learn installation and finishing under close supervision, supporting material handling, layout prep, and basic tasks while developing safety and technical skills.

You will contribute to framing, hanging, and finishing drywall, follow DPR standards for quality and safety, and participate in on-the-job and formal training to grow trade proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in drywall installation, finishing, or a related field.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing and organizing materials, tools, and work areas for metal stud and drywall systems.
• Supports team members in measuring, cutting, fitting, and attaching drywall panels and framing components.
• Learns proper techniques for framing wall systems under direct supervision.
• Observes and follows instructions to develop understanding of drywall installation methods and quality standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment throughout all phases of drywall work.
• Follows DPR safety policies and PPE requirements at all times.
• Participates in on-the-job and formal training to develop trade proficiency and understanding of project expectations.
