Job summary

DPR Construction is looking for a motivated apprentice to learn general carpentry tasks under close supervision at our Austin project sites. You will assist with material handling, preparation, and basic construction activities while developing foundational skills.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and up to two years of carpentry experience, plus OSHA 10 hours within three months of hire. DPR emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on training on diverse, complex projects.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
0-2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field required.
OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification within 3 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

Assists in preparing materials, tools, and work areas for carpentry tasks.
Supports experienced carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and related materials.
Observes and learns proper carpentry techniques and tool operation.
Follows safety policies, PPE requirements, and DPR procedures at all times.
Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout project activities.
Participates in on-the-job and classroom training to build technical proficiency.
Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors to support work progress.
