Job summary

DPR Construction in Austin, TX is seeking an entry-level drywall helper to learn and support installation and finishing of drywall systems under close supervision. You will assist with material handling, layout prep, and basic tasks while developing skills in framing, hanging, and finishing methods, and adhering to DPR safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 0–2 years experience, and OSHA 10 (preferred; completion within 6 months).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of drywall installation/finishing or related field experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred; completion within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing materials, tools, and work areas for metal stud and drywall systems.
• Supports measuring, cutting, fitting, and attaching drywall panels and framing components.
• Learns proper techniques for framing wall systems under direct supervision.
• Observes and follows instructions to develop understanding of drywall installation methods and quality standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment throughout all phases of drywall work.
• Follows DPR safety policies and PPE requirements at all times.
• Participates in on-the-job and formal training to develop trade proficiency and understanding of project expectations.
