Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a Dryer Operator to safely operate a fluid bed or rotary dryer and related equipment. Responsibilities include startup, parameter adjustments, basic maintenance, and safe operation of mobile equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, safety rules, and production instructions.
• Capability to use basic math to support operational tasks.
• Experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment preferred.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and maintain attendance.
• Ability to wear PPE and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Observe dryer operation and adjust parameters to maintain set points.
• Receive bulk truckloads of aggregates from outside carriers.
• Operate a front-end loader to fill bulk material silos to meet production needs.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Startup machinery for daily production.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report maintenance needs.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and maintain clean work areas.
• Monitor temperatures, airflow, and moisture; adjust to meet specs.
• Maintain production records and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Follow safety policies and PPE requirements.
