Job summary

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is seeking a Dryer Operator to safely run a fluid bed or rotary dryer and related equipment. You will manage start-up, adjust parameters, perform basic maintenance, and keep production areas clean while following safety policies.

You will read specifications, monitor temperatures and moisture, handle bulk material, operate a front-end loader, log production data, and report issues to supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret operating procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to perform basic math for operational tasks.
• Experience with front-end loaders or heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds.
• Good manual dexterity and stamina.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Observe dryer operation and adjust parameters to maintain set points.
• Receive bulk truckloads of aggregates from outside carriers.
• Operate a front-end loader to fill material silos for daily production.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Startup machinery for daily production.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report needs.
• Maintain production records and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
• Identify and report safety hazards and near-misses promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and operate equipment safely.
• Other duties as needed.
