Benchmark Utility Services is seeking hardworking Construction Dry Utility Laborers to join our field team in Fredericksburg, VA. You will support underground utility and site construction projects, performing a range of physical labor tasks alongside crew members and foremen to ensure safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or labor experience preferred (utility or site work experience a plus).
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in trenches, confined spaces, and around active utilities.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor to support site and utility construction projects.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform work for underground dry utilities.
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
• Clean and prepare job sites, including debris removal and site restoration.
• Excavate trenches and perform manual digging around existing utilities.
• Assist with installation of piping, conduit, and other utility infrastructure.
• Support skilled tradespeople and equipment operators as needed.
• Report equipment issues and perform light maintenance on tools.
• Follow all safety procedures, participate in daily safety briefings, and use required PPE.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
