Job summary

Synergy Flavors is hiring a Dry Blend Compounder for 1st shift. You will compound in a production facility, weigh ingredients, and operate mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.

You’ll follow batch instructions, ensure accuracy, and turn samples over to the lab for testing while adhering to food safety guidelines. The role demands attention to detail, basic math, PPE use, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must have a general knowledge of workplace safety and quality processes including GMPs & Allergens.
• Must follow safety requirements and wear PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety goggles and a mask as necessary.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematics required.
• Problem solve and communicate when something is wrong and to recognize/report the problem.
• Able to wear a respirator with Doctor’s approval and pass respiratory testing if required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary.
• Learn and consistently follow operational and cleaning procedures.
• Learn and complete required documentation and record-keeping requirements.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to read scales and understand unit of measure requirements.
• Basic computer skills with RF scanner experience preferred.

Responsibilities

How You Will Contribute

Position Summary

This position is responsible for compounding in a production manufacturing facility. Compounders add raw materials and follow the formula requirements to complete production orders using equipment such as mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks. They must follow standard batch instructions to accurately weigh dyes, chemicals, and other substances into the equipment. They must check for consistency in various batches and measure the viscosity of the mixtures. Compounders are required to take samples of the batch and turn them over to a laboratory for testing. They must follow food safety guidelines and accurate documentation of work completed.

Job Responsibilities :

• Follow standard batching instructions to measure or weigh ingredients.
• Lifting of heavy drums and bags while wearing proper PPE.
• Transfer materials, set up equipment, utilize piping and parts efficiently
• Strictly follow detailed instructions to monitor equipment, control temperatures and consistency of the mixes.
• Work in a fast-paced environment able to multi-task and perform under pressure while remaining flexible.
• Sample and test for various attributes from the mixes after completion.
• Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
• Filling out necessary paperwork and batch sheets that accompany mixes compounded.
• Consistently perform assigned duties in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s safety policies.
• Consistently perform and complete assigned duties without errors or other defects.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• HS Diploma/GED Preferred
• Must have a general knowledge of workplace safety and quality processes including GMP’s & Allergens
• Must follow safety requirements and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed shoes, safety goggles and a mask as necessary
• Attention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematics required
• Problem solve and communicate when something is wrong and to recognize/report the problem
• When required for the position, the employee must be able to wear a respirator with Doctor’s approval and successfully passing the respiratory and pulmonary function testing
• Ability to:
• Manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary
• Learn and consistently follow operational and cleaning procedures
• Learn and consistently complete required documentation and record-keeping requirements
• Work overtime when necessary
• Ability to use and read scales, accurate tare and recognize unit of measure requirements.
• Basic computer skills with RF scanner experience preferred
• Ability to manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary

Hourly Range : $21.50/HR +$1,000 Sign on Bonus (More depending on experience)

1st shift Monday - Friday 5:45a-2:15p
