Job summary

Synergy Flavors in Hamilton, OH, is seeking a Compounder for its production manufacturing facility. You will add raw materials, follow formula requirements, and operate mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks, ensuring batches meet weight and viscosity targets while documenting work.

You will sample batches, send to lab for testing, follow GMP and food safety guidelines, and maintain accurate batch sheets. The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to work quickly and

Responsibilities

• Sample and test attributes from mixes after completion.
• Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
• Fill out batch sheets and related paperwork.
• Maintain safety according to company policies and perform duties without errors.

Your Role in Synergy's Success

Position Summary

This position is responsible for compounding in a production manufacturing facility. Compounders add raw materials and follow the formula requirements to complete production orders using equipment such as mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks. They must follow standard batch instructions to accurately weigh dyes, chemicals, and other substances into the equipment. They must check for consistency in various batches and measure the viscosity of the mixtures. Compounders are required to take samples of the batch and turn them over to a laboratory for testing. They must follow food safety guidelines and accurate documentation of work completed.

How You Will Contribute

Job Responsibilities

• Follow standard batching instructions to measure or weigh ingredients.
• Lifting of heavy drums and bags while wearing proper PPE.
• Transfer materials, set up equipment, utilize piping and parts efficiently
• Strictly follow detailed instructions to monitor equipment, control temperatures and consistency of the mixes.
• Work in a fast-paced environment able to multi-task and perform under pressure while remaining flexible.
• Sample and test for various attributes from the mixes after completion.
• Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
• Filling out necessary paperwork and batch sheets that accompany mixes compounded.
• Consistently perform assigned duties in a safe manner and in accordance with the company's safety policies.
• Consistently perform and complete assigned duties without errors or other defects.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED Preferred
• Must have a general knowledge of workplace safety and quality processes including GMP's & Allergens
• Must follow safety requirements and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed shoes, safety goggles and a mask as necessary
• Attention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematics required
• Problem solve and communicate when something is wrong and to recognize/report the problem
