Steampunk in Bloomington, IL, seeks a Software Development Architect (Drupal) with 8+ years of full-stack development, including Drupal-based web apps, Agile and DevSecOps practices, and experience with CI/CD and test automation.

You will design, build, and deploy modular microservices and Drupal modules/themes, ensure security and reliability, mentor junior team members, and support production releases in a federal contracting environment.

Qualifications

U.S. government security clearance is required.
BS in IT or BS in a non-IT field with 2 years IT experience.
8+ years of experience with one or more programming languages (Java, Ruby, React, C++, C).
8+ years of experience with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
8+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages (Python, Bash, JavaScript).
5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI).
3+ years hands-on Drupal development (Drupal 8/9/10) including custom modules/themes/site configurations.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with automated testing frameworks including unit testing.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy modular micro-services and cloud-based systems, including Drupal-based web applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders and translate requirements to developers.
Write and debug code for innovative software solutions, including custom Drupal modules and themes.
Troubleshoot software quality, security, and reliability issues.
Participate in code reviews and QA activities.
Automate unit and functional tests.
Test and review code written by others and analyze results.
Develop complex software solutions using APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
Ensure security best practices align with Drupal and web app standards.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
Support production releases (deployment, troubleshooting, testing).
Document code, features, and training materials; document the as-is environment and gap analyses.
