Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a senior Drupal Architect to define and govern enterprise Drupal solutions, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing digital experiences. You will lead architecture discussions and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver modernization initiatives.

With 10+ years in IT and 5+ years guiding Drupal architecture, you will influence multi-site implementations, ACSF-driven ecosystems, and cloud-hosted environments while coordinating with delivery and client teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years leading Drupal architecture.
• Strong expertise with Drupal 9, 10, and 11 architecture, development, and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with ACSF and enterprise-scale Drupal ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of multisite architecture, deployment, governance, and cloud-hosted Drupal.
• Experience leading technical teams as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Technical Lead with client engagement.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, release management, and modern software delivery methods.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

Drupal Architect

As a Drupal Architect, you will make an impact by defining and governing enterprise Drupal solutions that deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital experiences. You will be a valued member of the digital engineering team and work collaboratively with customers, business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and delivery leaders to drive successful platform implementations and modernization initiatives.

In this role, you will:

• Define and govern end-to-end Drupal architecture for enterprise and multi-site platform implementations.

• Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational standards.

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, implementation roadmaps, and platform strategies.

• Drive architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical governance activities to ensure solution quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project delivery, platform modernization efforts, release planning, and issue resolution.

What you need to have to be considered

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years of experience leading Drupal architecture and enterprise platform implementations.

• Strong expertise with Drupal 9, 10, and 11 architecture, development, custom modules, and integrations.

• Hands‑on experience with Acquia Site Factory (ACSF) and enterprise‑scale Drupal ecosystems.

• Deep understanding of multisite architecture, deployment strategies, platform governance, and cloud-hosted Drupal environments.

• Experience leading technical teams as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Technical Lead while engaging directly with client stakeholders.

• Knowledge of CI/CD practices, release management, and modern software delivery methodologies.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, technical consulting, and problem‑solving skills.

These will help you stand out

• Experience with Acquia Cloud and Acquia Site Studio.

• Experience implementing large‑scale website factory solutions and multisite digital platforms.

• Knowledge of headless Drupal architectures and modern front‑end technologies such as React or Next.js.

• Drupal and/or Acquia certifications.

• Experience working in Agile and Scrum delivery environments.

• Proven success driving platform modernization, API‑driven integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $130.000 - $158.000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
