Job summary

One Federal Solution is seeking an Application Programmer/QA Engineer to support NAL scientific data applications using Drupal, PHP, Tripal, and Chado. The role focuses on development, QA, security, and O&M activities in collaboration with government stakeholders and technical teams.

The successful candidate will contribute to modernization efforts, testing processes, and deployment support, while leveraging DevSecOps practices and containerization within a LAMP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/SE or related discipline
• 6+ years in professional development with Drupal/PHP/Tripal/Chado/DevSecOps
• 4+ years PHP/Python programming
• Git/GitHub proficiency
• Docker/Podman experience
• Linux CLI and LAMP environment experience
• Relational DBs: MySQL/PostgreSQL
• Strong communication with developers and product owners
• Experience modernizing legacy systems and technology refresh

Responsibilities

• Provide application programming and QA engineering support for NAL data applications.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain scientific web applications.
• Support modernization and tech refresh of legacy systems.
• Analyze existing code and determine best approach for updates.
• Develop and execute QA processes, testing, and defect resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define migration paths.
• Support deployments, releases, and O&M activities.
• Use version control and DevSecOps practices.
• Utilize containerization for development, testing, deployment.
• Document technical configurations and processes.
• Ensure accessibility and security standards compliance.
