Job summary

Menchey School of Music in Reading, PA, invites applications for an enthusiastic drum instructor to join our Reading studio. You’ll teach private lessons, tailor engaging plans for students of all ages, and help them grow in confidence, technique, and performance readiness.

We're seeking a teacher with at least 2 years of college-level music training and 5 years of teaching or performance experience, plus a professional, patient, and student-focused approach.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of college-level music training or equivalent
• 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience
• Bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, personalized private drum lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Create a positive, encouraging, and educational lesson environment
• Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and participate in performance opportunities
• Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff
• Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records using the scheduling system

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and dependable drum instructor to join our team at our Reading studio. One weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or one recurring 4‑hour block on Saturdays

Qualifications

• A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college‑level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
• A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
• Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
