Job summary

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking a passionate vocal instructor to join our Reading studio. Teach private lessons, foster confidence, and inspire students of all ages in a supportive, music-centered environment.

You’ll work one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or one four-hour block on Saturdays, with marketing support, scheduling, and recital opportunities. Requires 2+ years college music training and 5 years teaching or performance; bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or related field preferred; applicants pursuing a degree are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience teaching learners of all ages and skill levels; ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Teach private voice lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Create a positive, encouraging lesson environment.
  • Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and participate in performance opportunities.
  • Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff.
  • Keep attendance and lesson records using the studio's scheduling system.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm daily.

We're currently looking for an enthusiastic and dependable vocal instructor to join our team at our Reading studio. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that truly values education.

Availability Needed:

One weeknight from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM or one recurring 4-hour block on Saturdays

What You’ll Do:

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
  • A bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
