Job summary

Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, seeks a multi-instrumental orchestral string instructor for our Reading studio. You will conduct private lessons, build strong student relationships, and contribute to a welcoming music community that values education.

The role features evening availability (weeknights 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or Saturday blocks), full studio support, and ongoing recital opportunities in a collaborative environment focused on student growth and love of music.

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is home to a thriving private lesson program that serves students throughout the region. As the area’s largest family-owned music retailer, we’re proud to offer high‑quality music instruction in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment.

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and dependable multi‑instrumental orchestral string instructor to join our team at our Reading studio. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music‑centered community that truly values education.

Availability Needed:

One weeknight from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM or one recurring 4‑hour block on Saturdays

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college‑level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
  • A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
