Job summary

Lilly Research Labs, located in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a highly motivated candidate to advance drug product manufacturing processes focusing on amorphous solid dispersion technologies. The role spans Phase 2/3 trials through registration and commercialization within the SMDD group.

The candidate should possess strong chemical engineering fundamentals, experience in process development, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to deliver scalable, compliant manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related field with 0‑5 years pharma process development experience OR
  • MS in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years pharma process development experience OR
  • BS in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years pharma process development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, scale up, and optimize amorphous solid dispersion manufacturing processes (e.g., spray drying, hot melt extrusion, co‑precipitation).
  • Drive process development activities toward commercialization with robust control strategies.
  • Support technology transfer and scale‑up to internal and external sites.
  • Collaborate with partners to plan and manage development activities aligned with CMC strategy.
  • Publish technical reports and regulatory documentation supporting new technologies.
