Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies seeks a Drug GM department leader to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, efficient store environment. You will direct all functions of the department, drive sales, control expenses, and supervise associates through performance management and training.

You will ensure compliance with laws, educate staff on promotions, and manage inventory with care. The role requires strong communication, math skills, and prior Drug GM or retail leadership

Qualifications

• Effective communication and math skills are required for daily operations and team interactions.
• Experience in drug department management and retail settings is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage department performance goals.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to support a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate information to associates and establish performance goals.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Inform customers of specials and promotions.
• Plan and implement a department business plan with store management.
• Monitor store layout, promotions, and inventory control.
• Prepare seasonal critiques and implement promotional plans.
• Maintain safety programs and report risks or incidents.
• Assist in budgeting, P&L reviews, and expense control.
• Schedule price changes and supervise the inventory process.
