Job summary

You will schedule, train and evaluate associates, manage promotions, control expenses, and maintain inventory accuracy to support optimal store performance.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions.
• Communicate department and job specific information to associates; promote teamwork to help achieve goals.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Develop associates on performance and participate in performance appraisals; set department goals.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and suggestions.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results; monitor expenses.
• Understand store layout and locate products; create and execute sales promotions.
• Inform and educate associates about current in-store promotions, especially Drug/GM promotions.
• Assist store management in budgeting, profit/loss reviews and related actions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
• Schedule price changes by updating shelf tags and signs.
• Train department associates on inventory processes; supervise inventory activities.
• Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of safety risks or incidents and report theft or fraud.
