Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Drug Diversion Technician to support the Diversion Specialist and help manage the drug diversion program at assigned sites.

You will participate in audits, policy development, training, and collaboration with pharmacy, nursing leadership, and regulators to ensure compliance with the Controlled Substances Act and related laws. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to stay current with evolving regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year hospital or retail pharmacy experience.
• CPhT certification preferred.
• Strong communication and detail orientation.

The role will be involved in any controlled substance activity at assigned sites in order to assure the pharmacy is meeting all regulatory requirements of the Controlled Substance Act.Job DutiesAssist the diversion specialist in managing the drug diversion program, including creating and maintaining policies, procedures, and training and education programs.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program and make recommendations for improvement.Conduct regular audits of medication storage areas, prescription records, dispensing and recordkeeping to ensure no gaps or deficiencies existCollaborate with diversion specialist, pharmacy personnel, nursing leadership and other healthcare providers and regulatory bodies to ensure the program is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.Identify potential drug diversion incidents and assist with investigations as necessary.Utilize the diversion surveillance software to trend data, educate staff, and investigate potential diversion incidents.Stay current with updates and changes to laws, regulations, and best practices related drug diversion.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED1 year Hospital or Retail pharmacy experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsDetail orientedCPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician - State of PennsylvaniaPreferred Qualifications2 years hospital or retail with a focus on controlled substancesKnowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to drug diversionPhysical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.Job Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
