Job summary

Sunrise Telecom is seeking a Drop Bury Supervisor in Wisconsin to oversee daily field operations for its Drop Bury program. You will lead technicians and subcontractors to complete fiber and coax drops safely, efficiently, and to customer standards.

You will coordinate workloads, monitor production, and enforce quality controls while ensuring crews have equipment and information needed to finish jobs on time. Travel in the market is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of telecommunications, underground utility, drop bury, construction, or related field experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory, crew lead, or field leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with fiber and coax drop burial operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of underground utility locating and 811/Dig Safe requirements.
• Knowledge of underground construction practices, including hand digging, trenching, plowing, and boring.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple crews, priorities, and field issues simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, contractors, customers, and management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct Drop Bury Technicians and subcontractor crews.
• Coordinate with Dispatch to review workloads and routing.
• Monitor production and ensure crews meet productivity targets.
• Conduct field quality control inspections and ensure standards.
• Ensure burial depth, cable placement, restoration, and installation practices meet specs.
• Verify underground utilities are located and marked as required.
• Identify and resolve field issues and customer concerns.
• Review escalated jobs and determine corrective actions.
• Document completed work with notes, photos, and measurements.
• Train and mentor field employees on installation techniques and safety.
• Conduct safety observations and enforce policies.
• Assist with investigations of damages, incidents, and quality concerns.
