Job summary

Wing is seeking a Route Planning Software Engineering Intern to join our Pathfinder team in Palo Alto, CA for a 12-week paid summer internship. This hybrid, in-person program starts in May or June and targets students who will return to their degree program after the internship.

You will work on developing and refining path planning algorithms for autonomous drones, collaborate with GNC, perception, and flight software teams, and gain hands-on experience deploying safety-critical robotics

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; graduation between Dec 2027 and Aug 2028.
• Examples of practical engineering experience through internships, lab work, or robotics projects.
• Experience applying algorithms to path planning, navigation, or spatial search problems.
• Proficient in C++ or Python with a solid foundation in data structures and software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Create and improve path planning and trajectory generation for autonomous drones.
• Build simulation, analysis, and testing tools using flight logs.
• Coordinate with GNC, perception, and flight software teams.
• Prototype and deploy safety-critical robotics software on a drone fleet.
