Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Systems Hardware Engineer for Prime Air avionics hardware. You will lead hardware integration, validation, and test-system development for flight-critical drone avionics across bring-up, sub-system, and full-system levels.

Qualifications

BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience.
Experience with coding/scripting in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).

Responsibilities

Validate hardware interfaces and unblock system integration across the avionics system.
Architect, design, build, and operate test systems for drone avionics hardware at the bring-up, sub-system, and system levels.
Develop and execute comprehensive verification and validation test plans, including qualification and compliance against aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, DO-254).
Analyze test data, generate test reports with recommendations, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Perform root cause analysis on hardware system failures, develop and implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement of validation processes and manufacturing reliability.
Contribute to manufacturing, in-service, and reliability initiatives for avionics hardware in production environments.
