Job summary

Quantum Solutions is seeking a proactive Drone Pilot to join the Operations team, delivering solar inspections across the US. You will operate our Q.Fly drone systems in live customer environments, run missions to inspect sites, and provide technical feedback to engineering during product development.

This on-site role requires travel to client sites nationwide, with potential travel around California, Texas or Florida, and collaboration with teams in the UK and US.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating drones in field environments.
• Familiarity with UAV mission planning software and post-processing tools.
• Strong technical aptitude for imaging systems and data interpretation.

Position summary

Quantum Solutions is seeking a proactive, solutions focused, and experienced Drone Pilot to join our growing Operations team, delivering solar inspection services in the US. You will be responsible for operating our Q.Fly drone systems in live customer environments, conducting field demonstrations, flying missions to inspect environments according to customer requirements, and participating in product development and testing. This hands-on role involves both piloting and contributing technical feedback to our engineering teams. This role would suit someone who has a genuine passion and interest in technology, who is comfortable within a fast paced, start-up environment, and who is able to find creative solutions to new challenges.

The position is based in the US, ideally around California, Texas or Florida with regular travel to client sites across the US. The rest of the team are based in the UK and USA (California), so you must be comfortable working autonomously, and have solid knowledge of local compliance regulations.

What you’ll do

• Operate DJI M350/400 drones with Q.Fly payloads for customer demonstrations, onboarding sessions, and field testing
• Develop, plan and execute drone flight missions for products demonstrations, and inspection routines
• Test and evaluate new payloads and product features, provide structured feedback to the engineering team
• Assist in collecting, analysing, and documenting flight data and performance reports
• Maintain drone hardware and ground control equipment, performing basic troubleshooting and field repairs
• Collaborate with engineering, and marketing teams to refine customer experience and system performance

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrated experience in drone operations, preferably in multispectral or imaging systems
• Familiarity with UAV mission planning software and data post-processing tools
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp imaging system concepts quickly
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer experience
• Ability to work independently in field conditions and collaboratively across teams
• Willingness to travel as required
• Proactive, solutions focused attitude with the ability to adapt to changing situations positively

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multispectral, or thermal imaging payloads
• Prior work in precision agriculture, remote sensing, or infrastructure inspection
• Understanding of camera systems, optics, and imaging data workflows
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) is a plus
