Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Drone Specialist to lead drone activities for New Glenn at LC‑36, Cape Canaveral. You will serve as the primary drone ops contact, manage training, and coordinate with operations and media teams to support mission coverage and testing.

Responsibilities include managing FAA coordination, developing flight plans, organizing test runs, and ensuring regulatory compliance across drone operations.

Qualifications

• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification with evidence of drone piloting experience.
• Experience managing drone operations in complex environments.
• Experience creating schedules for complex operations and meeting deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of FAA drone regulations and waiver processes.
• Knowledge of drone maintenance procedures and asset management.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination abilities.
• Willingness to flex work hours to nights and weekends for missions.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead all New Glenn drone activities, prioritizing media events and expanding drone use for operations.
• Act as a New Glenn drone operator.
• Develop and conduct pilot and Visual Observer training.
• Manage operator coverage and hire contractors as needed.
• Implement asset management: track, maintain, and stock drone components.
• Coordinate with operations and media teams to meet mission coverage and requirements.
• Develop flight plans to meet coverage needs and schedule tests and pre‑event meetings.
• Coordinate FAA coordination, range permissions, and regulatory compliance.
