Job summary

Service Robot Co. is seeking a hands-on drone technician to install, repair, and maintain drones and docking/charging stations at customer sites in the Walnut Creek area. This field-based contract role involves traveling to sites, diagnosing faults, and performing precise repairs.

You will complete an online course through our academy, followed by in-person training and industry certifications. The first job is paid, with specialist support available remotely.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronics repair, RC or FPV drone building, avionics, low-voltage systems, or similar hands-on work.
• Patience with small parts and precise repairs.
• A methodical approach to finding faults.
• Accurate records and clear communication.
• Comfort working independently at customer sites.
• Availability to drive, work outdoors, and travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in drones, docks, and charging systems.
• Repair or replace propellers, motors, electronic speed controllers, batteries, gimbals, and cameras.
• Update firmware and calibrate equipment.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Follow lithium battery procedures for storage, charging, transport, and disposal.
• Record faults, repairs, replacement parts, and follow-up work.
• Keep spare parts available and report recurring problems.
• Explain repairs and next steps to customers.
