Job summary

Coastline Academy is hiring a driving instructor in California to educate and advise students on basic driving skills, with access to a company vehicle and a paid certification program through our training team. The role focuses on afternoon and weekend lessons, typically three two-hour sessions per day, and requires obtaining or maintaining state licensing with our support.

You will teach practical driving skills, enforce road rules, and help students build confidence while documenting progress

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for helping people learn.
• Ability to remain calm in a learning environment.
• Strong safety mindset and strong reasoning ability.
• Clear instruction, coaching, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to focus for extended periods of time.
• Must have a valid State Driver’s License in the state of work.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check.
• Minimum of 10 years of legal driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach practical skills related to all aspects of driving.
• Provide instruction on the rules of the road.
• Help students develop confidence in their driving skills.
• Maintain control of the vehicle during emergency situations.
• Document and report on students’ progress.
• Maintain timely communication with supervisors and support teams.
• Maintain professionalism with students and fellow team members.
• Attend team meetings for updates and ongoing development.
