Job summary

AAA Northeast in Massachusetts is seeking dedicated driving instructors to educate students pursuing their driving licenses in real-world on-the-road environments. You will deliver patient, safety-focused instruction, adapt to varied learning styles, and maintain vehicle readiness for training sessions.

Preferred candidates have teaching experience, a valid license, and an ability to obtain necessary state certifications within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of prior teaching experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Current State Driving Instruction Certificate, or ability to obtain certification post training within 30 Days.
• Ability to meet Club insurance requirements and pre-employment guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Educates and instructs students trying to obtain their driving license in on-the-road settings.
• Maintains awareness of students' learning styles and adjusts instruction accordingly to reduce anxiety.
• Provides patient, calm instruction to ensure safe driving techniques in highway and urban conditions.
• Ensures vehicle safety and readiness; performs pre-use inspections and clean/presentable vehicles.
• Drives students to road tests and Registry for licenses; provides training feedback to supervisor and co-workers.

Maintains an awareness of various students learning styles and adjusts instruction appropriately.Provides instruction in a patient, calm, and personable manner to reduce student anxiety and enhance the learning experience. For on-the-road settings; observes students driving ability; provides instruction in safe driving techniques in both highway and urban driving conditions. Ensures the safety of the student(s) is maintained at all times during on-the-road instructional sessions.Ensures driving school vehicles are clean and presentable according to Club guidelines; removes snow, ice, and other debris from vehicles prior to each use. Performs vehicle inspections and safety checks prior to the operation of the vehicle. May be required to drive vehicle to nearby Fleet center, car wash, or another automotive facility for preventative maintenance or repair.Assists in driving school with various administrative tasks. Drive students to road tests and Registry for licenses. Adheres to all department policies and procedures, including accurate recording of student hours.May provide training and guidance to new driving instructors/trainees.
