Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division in Waukaukan, IL is seeking an Electrical Technical Support Engineer to deliver high-quality telephone support and field service engineering for drives, motion controllers, servos, CNCs, PLCs and robotics.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, product training, and assisting customers with installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, and migration paths. Travel on field calls and 24-hour on-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSET preferred or equivalent technical training.
• One-year experience with drives, motion controllers, servos, CNCs, PLCs or robotics.
• Understanding of drives and controllers applications.
• Proficient with basic test equipment and diagnosing circuits.
• Valid driver's license and US passport eligibility.
• Computer literacy and good typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, efficient telephone support for aftermarket services.
• Complete Certified Specialist training and maintain certifications.
• Travel for field service calls and be on 24-hour on-call duty.
• Enter service data into CRM and generate reports.
• Assist in training new service engineers.
• Interface with customers, partners, OEMs and service providers.
• Attend trade shows and contribute data for satisfaction reports.
