Job summary

City Electric Supply is seeking a Drives Specialist in Dallas, TX to lead technical and commercial efforts for industrial drive and motion control solutions within the IAS team. You will select, program, and commission VFDs, servo drives, and motor control systems, collaborating with sales and manufacturers to deliver high-value engineered solutions.

The role requires acting as the SME on drive applications, providing training to staff and customers, and driving growth through engineered

Qualifications

• Educational background in electrical or mechanical engineering. Extensive experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Professional background in drive systems.
• Proficient in Siemens, Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, ABB, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Applies safe work practices for all work activities.
• Sizes and selects VFDs, servo drives, and motor control solutions based on customer needs.
• Provides expert guidance on installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the installation requirements and best practices for various applications.
• Supports startup and ensures optimal system performance.
• Partners with sales and support teams to develop, quote, and close opportunities.
• Drives revenue through engineered solutions and customer engagement.
• Educates internal teams and customers on drives and motion solutions.
• Builds strong partnerships with key manufacturers, OEMs, contractors, and end users.
