Duties
  • You will assist the Drivers Training Manager in conducting a continuous and comprehensive motor vehicle mishap prevention program for all Marine Corps Base commands, MCCDC and organizations and tenant activities on base and in the Capital Region.
  • You will assist the Drivers Training Manager with the Commands Private Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
  • You will provide recommendations and assistance to all military and civilian personnel concerning established motor vehicles safety methods and techniques; adaptation and application of directives, regulations, codes and local standards.
  • You will ensure the proper application of the installations licensing program for commercial vehicles of all weights and types in accordance with applicable federal., state, and local regulations.
  • You will maintain and update a variety of specialized driver training courses designed to prepare operators for local licensing. including explosives/Hazmat transport, emergency vehicle operations, and others courses as required.
  • You will maintain certifications and coordinates with a variety of organizations for support purposes when conducting child safety seat checks.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing safety principles, driver training methodologies, and mishap prevention programs, administering or supporting a Government Motor Vehicle Licensing Program, interpreting and applying regulations governing motor vehicle operations; conducting research and developing traffic safety policies and procedures. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related Combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
