Job summary

Watsco in Richmond, VA is seeking a Driver/Warehouse Associate to handle daily loading and unloading, deliver HVAC freight, receive and stock merchandise, and prepare orders for shipment. Maintain safety standards and operate a forklift as needed.

You will contribute to excellent customer service, inventory control, and daily vehicle and equipment checks. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• Requires 24+ months of verifiable experience driving a 16’ minimum box truck or stake bed truck.
• Ability to multi-task and meet daily deadlines.
• Knowledge of common carrier LTL and full truckload logistics.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products daily.
• Assist with HVAC freight deliveries to customers.
• Receive, inspect, and stock merchandise; verify items vs orders.
• Pick, verify, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Record and report truck and forklift maintenance and in/out times.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of grounds and warehouse.
• Wear PPE and comply with safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Daily loading and unloading of products.
• Assist with delivering and transporting HVAC freight and materials to customers.
• Receive, inspect and stock all merchandise.
• Verify all items received to items ordered for accuracy.
• Pick and verify orders for customers and prepare orders for shipment as needed.
• Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager.
• Responsible for daily checklist of truck and forklift maintenance and reporting in/out times with merchandise returns.
• Appropriate use and maintenance of OF device.
• Assist with physical inventory and inventory control.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and/or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.
• Provide excellent customer service to external customers.
• Ensure grounds and warehouse are kept neat, orderly, and safe for employees and customer traffic. Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to one’s regular job duties.
• Wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of verifiable experience driving a 16’ minimum box truck, or stake bed truck.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL Class B license preferred (except when required in certain states)
• 6 months of Warehouse experience including forklift operation.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC and truckload logistics is a plus.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday. This position may require working extra hours on occasion.
