This Driver/Warehouse position is conveniently located at our Palmer, MA distribution center located at 1127 S Main St, Palmer, MA 01069. *Please note*, this is PRIMARILY a warehouse job with driving responsibilities coming second as needed/filling in for our full-time drivers OR if we need to make extra trips to locations. We use 26’ box trucks so experience with one of those is a big plus.

The Driver/Warehouse associate is responsible for the delivery of merchandise to and from customers, vendors, and other branches or locations, as directed, with the use of a company vehicle. This role processes, handles, ships, receives, transfers, stocks, picks, and pulls products for customers and vendors for all incoming or outgoing merchandise and freight. This role works in all departments within the warehouse related to product incoming and outgoing tasks. Additionally, this role is responsible for excellence in customer service, the proper use of company tools, vehicles, and equipment, as well as adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

What you'll be doing:

Driving

• Responsible for safe, timely, accurate, and efficient product deliveries.
• Delivers and transfers merchandise to and from customers, vendors, branch locations, or other locations as directed by their supervisor.
• Responsible for accurately checking all products as loaded and/or unloaded by the driver against the paperwork associated with the delivery.
• Reports any delays to supervisor through the course of the day.
• Responsible for checking in with supervisor before and after each departure or arrival at the branch, and after each delivery drop or pickup while on the road.
• Responsible for following all procedures associated with deliveries.
• Confers with supervisor prior to departure on proper form of payment for any COD order.
• Responsible for securing all products in vehicle properly to prevent shifting or damage to product prior to departure and throughout deliveries as needed.

Warehouse

• Responsible for general warehouse work as directed, including working in any and all departments within the warehouse relating to incoming or outgoing product.
• Assists shipping, receiving, transfers, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to packing slips.
• Move materials and items from receiving or transfer areas to shipping areas or stock locations as designated.
• Sorts and places product on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Preferred Job Requirements

• 3 or more years’ experience with driving, warehousing and related functions.
• High School diploma or its GED equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience with driving, warehousing, and related functions.
• Valid minimum 1-year DOT certification and state driver’s license.
• Demonstrates ability and willingness to safely operate warehouse equipment.
• Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.
