Job summary

Atlantic Fields Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, seeks a seasonal/full-time Driver to join the Transportation Department. The role involves welcoming members, assisting with parking, and transporting guests both on-site and off-site, including airport runs.

The Driver/Valet will also maintain clean vehicles, follow safety practices, and provide information and assistance to members as needed. A flexible schedule and a professional demeanor are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Six months of guest-service experience in a high-volume setting preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required (US or international).
  • Experience as a valet in a luxury club or resort is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service and communication with members, guests, and team members.
  • Meet and greet arriving and departing members and guests.
  • Park, retrieve, and transport vehicles and golf carts safely and efficiently.
  • Drive passengers to airports, off-site housing, and nearby locations as needed.
  • Maintain clean transport shuttles and vehicles, including basic cleaning.
  • Handle luggage, directions, and assistance for wheelchairs when required.
  • Prepare reports on passenger trips, hours, mileage, and fuel usage.
  • Follow traffic laws and department policies while operating vehicles.
  • Attend department meetings and training as required.

Our Company is seeking a seasonal/full-time Driver to join the Transportation Department.

Job Summary

The Driver/Valet position is the first and last point of contact for our members and guests, and will be responsible to create positive, lasting impressions for our members and guests. The Driver/Valet position will be responsible for assisting with parking, as well as driving transit vans to transport passengers onsite or to offsite locations. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members, guests, and team members.
  • Meet and greet all arriving/departing members and guests in a timely manner.
  • Park and retrieve member, guest and customer vehicles or golf carts in specified areas in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Will be responsible to drive, pick up, or drop off members and VIP guests around the local area, which includes the airport.
  • Perform drive and park assignments per department policies/procedures.
  • Keep parking areas clean and orderly.
  • Provide member assistance and information, such as giving directions, handling baggage, assisting with wheelchairs loading and unloading, etc.
  • Ensure that members and guests belongings are retrieved and delivered to the proper outlet.
  • Maintain clean transportation shuttles and company vehicles (basic cleaning services including car wash, wiping interiors, and brief vacuuming to remove sand and dirt, but not full detailing services).
  • Check condition of transport vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Provide deliveries/pickups as needed, and run other errands as needed.
  • Prepare and submit reports that include number of passenger trips, ridership, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Comply with local and public traffic laws, and highway safety rules and regulations in operating vehicles.
  • Follow written and verbal geographical directions.
  • Operate light and heavy passenger vans and buses for transport to airports, off-site housing, off-site entertainment/activities and more as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain staff transportation schedules.
  • Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
  • Any additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license or International Equivalent.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least six (6) months of guest-service experience in a high-volume environment at a restaurant, resort, or private club.
  • Prior valet attendant in luxury club or private resort setting (preferred).
  • Proficient in proper and safe driving of vehicles.
  • Driving record that meets the Club’s insurance requirements.
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and use vision, hearing, and hands/arms to drive multi-passenger vehicles.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length due to business demands.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
