Job summary

TransWest is seeking a Driver Trainer to lead safety training for CDL, Non-CDL and ADA drivers. You will conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel sessions, coordinate with Operations to meet client training and safety needs, and uphold a culture where safety comes first.

This full-time role requires 3+ years of driving experience, a valid CDL, and a current DOT medical card. You’ll develop materials, mentor trainees, and contribute to a safe, service-oriented team at our Seattle location.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement and current DOT Medical Card.
• At least 3 years of commercial or professional driving experience.
• Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug test.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience as a supervisor or lead preferred.
• Understanding of DOT rules and guidelines.
• Must maintain an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and document driver safety training, including initial orientation and classroom/behind-the-wheel training.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, assist with incidents and retraining.
• Instruct trainees on providing excellent client service during boarding and de-boarding.
• Maintain schedules and information for riders; educate on transportation options.
• Perform road tests as needed.
• Instruct on completing DOT pre-trips, post trips and inspections.
• Instruct on fueling vehicles per policy and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
