Job summary

Republic Services is offering a Driver Trainee role in which you will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and then transition into a Driver position across our residential, commercial, industrial, or roll-off lines.

You will complete a comprehensive training program with classroom, on-route, and hands-on experience, including a CDL exam, and after obtaining your CDL you will be expected to fulfill a 12-month employment requirement and operate within safety policies.

Qualifications

• CDL training pursued through Republic Services' program.
• No prohibitions to obtaining a commercial driver's license.
• Commitment to complete 12 months of employment after CDL attainment.
• Ability to operate heavy or commercial trucks safely.

Responsibilities

• Complete Republic Services' CDL training program with classroom and on-route instruction.
• Maintain safety and report issues on standard safety reports.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections on assigned vehicles.
• Operate trucks on designated routes and service customers per route sheets.
• After CDL, assume Driver responsibilities in one of the business lines (Residential/Commercial/Industrial/Roll-Off).
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
