Southeastern Freight Lines in Savannah, GA, is seeking a Driver Trainee who will participate in our Driver Training Program while performing Freight Handler duties. Training includes 8 hours behind the wheel and 25 hours of yard training, observed by experienced mentors.

Upon completion, individuals may transition to a full Driver role. Pay ranges from $33.35 to $34.50 per hour, with first shift offered. The company emphasizes safety, teamwork, and long-term career growth in logistics.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old; able to pass background check and drug test.
• High school diploma or GED required; CDL-A with Hazmat/Tanker/Doubles endorsements pursued.
• At least 6 months driving experience with a personal vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload trailers, with or without equipment.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of freight.
• Inspect trucks for defects; file Vehicle Condition Report.
• Check shipping papers when hazmat present; ensure proper paperwork.
• Drive truck to destinations; ensure shipping docs accompany shipment.
• Maintain logs and compliance records as required.
