Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Valdosta, GA is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee responsible for learning to operate tractor trailer or straight truck on local and occasional OTR routes, delivering and unloading food products safely under DOT rules.

You will train in the program with a driver trainer, complete safety checks, deliver orders on schedule, obtain signatures, and maintain hours-of-service logs. Compensation starts at $22.50 per hour with comprehensive benefits starting Day 1.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Internal PFG Candidates: 1 year of service in good standing as outlined in the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• External Driver School Direct Hire: 0 - 12 months experience with a CDL A License.
• Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age; meet all state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries per trainer directions.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies and report hazards.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to route schedule and unload at designated areas.
