Job summary

Cox Automotive in Elkridge, MD is seeking a Transportation Associate to orient and instruct new drivers, coordinate vehicle movements, and ensure timely pickup and drop-off of employees and assets. You will lead the local team, uphold safety procedures, monitor workloads, communicate schedules, and perform daily van maintenance while delivering reliable transportation to auctions and depots.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years' related experience, or equivalent combination.
• Valid driver's license required and safe driving record.
• Ability to lead a team and coordinate daily transportation activities.

Responsibilities

• Orient and instruct new drivers on duties and assist in assigning work.
• Coordinate vehicle flow, maintain stock/logs, and communicate schedules.
• Manage vans and transport drivers to locations, ensuring timely pickup/drop-off.
• Lead the team, enforce policies, and maintain safety and health procedures.
• Review workloads with management and monitor staffing levels for efficiency.
• Perform daily van maintenance and routine checks; keep vehicles serviced.
