Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with routing systems and fleet maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a box truck safely.
• Knowledge of traffic laws for large vehicles.
• Ability to work independently with a fixed schedule.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Transportation Supervisor’s point of contact, observing operations closely and communicating all relevant information.
• Safely operate and oversee vehicles and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to all traffic rules and safety regulations.
• Model expected behaviors, applying sound judgment and maintaining a proactive approach to address team needs and operational demands.
• Communicate effectively and consistently with driver teams and supervisors to ensure clear understanding of expectations and updates.
• Develop driver teams through coaching and training, identifying and addressing specific training needs.
• Oversee and optimize driver routing, resolve route-related issues, and promote efficient trailer loading and unloading.
• Help coordinate daily transportation activities, including donor service, fleet maintenance, and support of retail store delivery needs.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to prioritize compliance with all safety guidelines.
• Complete pickup routes as needed, alongside other responsibilities to support team and operational goals.
• Maintain a clear understanding of company goals and mission, communicating these to team members as well as donors.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings to enhance skills and stay informed of organizational policies and updates.
