Job summary

McLane is seeking a Shuttle Driver to deliver full trailers to the domicile and return empties to the distribution center, supporting efficient, safe product movement for major brands across the United States.

The role offers a competitive hourly pay, Day 1 benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with profit sharing, plus paid holidays and PTO accrual from day one. We value safety, reliability, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required and driving experience is needed.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer experience.
• Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Secure product inside the trailer to prevent damage during transport.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• May perform line haul or backhaul as needed.
• Work safely to prevent injury and damage to products.

This Shuttle Driver is responsible for the delivery of full trailers to the Domicile and taking empty trailers back to the Distribution Center.

What you’ll do as a Shuttle Driver:

• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Ensure that product is secured inside the trailer for undamaged transport.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations.
• May at times perform line haul and/or backhaul.
• Work safely to prevent injury to people and damage to products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Shuttle Driver Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience
• Meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
