Job summary

McLane is seeking a Shuttle Driver to deliver full trailers to domicile locations and return empty trailers to the Distribution Center. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and timely departures, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include inspecting rigs, securing cargo, logging hours, and potentially handling line haul duties. Ideal candidates are 21+, hold a CDL-A, and have trucking experience.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old with a valid CDL-A license.
• Minimum 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer experience.
• Must meet MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for safety and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the rig for defects before and after trips and submit DOT inspection reports.
• Ensure cargo is secured inside the trailer for undamaged transport.
• Maintain driver logs (Manual or PeopleNet) per DOT regulations.
• May perform line haul and/or backhaul as needed.
• Work safely to prevent injuries and protect products.

This Shuttle Driver is responsible for the delivery of full trailers to the Domicile and taking empty trailers back to the Distribution Center.

• Pay Rate: Drivers make 68K-74K gross per year
• Dispatch time between 7am - 9am.

What you’ll do as a Shuttle Driver:

• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Ensure that product is secured inside the trailer for undamaged transport.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations.
• May at times perform line haul and/or backhaul.
• Work safely to prevent injury to people and damage to products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Shuttle Driver Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience
• Meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
