Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is seeking a Driver Assistant to support the Driver in collecting donations of furniture, appliances, and building materials across Orange County. You will also help with vehicle readiness and the ReStore team.

The role requires a valid driver's license, 21+ years old, high school diploma or equivalent, and strong customer service. You will navigate routes with GPS, handle paperwork, and work Monday through Friday with some evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to meet vehicle insurance requirements.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Availability Monday through Friday with some evenings or weekends as needed.
• Prior experience in customer service, warehouse, or delivery preferred.
• Familiarity with Habitat for Humanity mission and values is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ReStore management and staff to support product processing and the sales floor.
• Assist with picking up donations from individual and corporate donors.
• Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service with donors, volunteers, and co-workers.
• Navigate driving routes efficiently using GPS.
• Accurately complete the required paperwork in a timely manner according to company guidelines.
• Assist in supervising the maintenance, readiness, and safety of Habitat ReStore vehicles and equipment, including enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, updating maintenance logs.
