Job summary

LGT Transport, an in-office role based in Omaha, NE, is looking for a full-time Driver Recruiting Manager. You will own the driver recruiting lifecycle—from sourcing through onboarding—for Class A CDL, Hazmat and Tanker drivers to support our cryogenic and industrial gas operations.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in truck driver recruiting, DOT/FMCSA knowledge, and strong project-management skills. You’ll collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and Safety to ensure top talent meets regulatory

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of truck driver recruiting or related role.
• Experience with DOT/FMCSA driver qualifications and safety standards.

We are looking for a full-time Driver Recruiting Manager to add to our growing team. This role is responsible for leading the company’s driver recruitment strategy from end to end, owning the full recruiting lifecycle for Class A CDL, Hazmat and Tanker drivers — from sourcing, through screening, interviewing and onboarding — while building a strong pipeline of safe, qualified and reliable drivers to support our cryogenic and industrial gas transportation operations. The ideal candidate combines recruiting expertise with a genuine passion for the trucking industry, a commitment to LGT’s driver-first culture, and exceptional project management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Own and execute LGT’s driver recruiting strategy, including pipeline-building for Class A CDL, Hazmat and Tanker drivers across all terminals and regions.


• Screen applicants for qualifications, safety record, DOT compliance eligibility, and cultural fit with LGT’s values.


• Conduct phone and in-person interviews; coordinate road tests, orientation scheduling, and pre-employment requirements (MVR, PSP, drug screening, background checks).


• Partner with the Compliance team to ensure all hires meet DOT/FMCSA qualification standards.


• Track and report recruiting metrics (cost-per-hire, time-to-fill, turnover, retention) and adjust strategy based on data.


• Develop and manage driver referral programs, sign-on bonus structures, and retention incentives in partnership with Operations leadership.


• Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and safety leadership to forecast hiring needs based on freight volume and fleet growth.


• Ensure a positive, professional candidate experience that reflects LGT’s culture and values from first contact through onboarding.


• Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and DOT hiring regulations.


• Continuously evaluate and improve the driver recruiting funnel, messaging, and employer branding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements (MVR, PSP, CSA, drug and alcohol testing regulations).


• Proven track record of meeting hiring goals in a high-volume or high-turnover recruiting environment.


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.


• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, and recruiting CRM tools.


• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective project management skills.


• Familiarity with driver retention strategies and driver satisfaction programs preferred.


• 3+ years of experience in truck driver recruiting, transportation HR, or a closely related recruiting role.


• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.


• Experience recruiting for tanker, hazmat, or cryogenic/industrial gas transportation roles preferred.
