Job summary

Michigan Department of State seeks a Departmental Technician 10 who researches, collects, consolidates, reviews, and maintains program data for DRPS analysts and managers to meet reporting and evaluation goals. You will review operations, redesign forms, and assist with surveys and reports to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The role requires back-up support to the Section analyst for testing and complex driver corrections, and careful review of laws, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
• Two years of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
• Three years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced level in state service.

Responsibilities

• Serves in a back-up role to the Section analyst for program testing and resolution of complex driver corrections for staff.
• Reviews forms and drafts initial redesigns of them; designs surveys or special studies and conducts research, compiles data, prepares initial draft of reports.
• Reviews and recommends alternative Section and Division strategies to address and resolve issues and problems.
