Job summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in Manhattan, NY seeks a reliable Per Diem Driver for its Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to support the Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT) program. You will transport the MMU to clinical sites and ensure readiness and security for staff and supplies.

Responsibilities include vehicle upkeep, on-site security, accurate logs, and assisting with setup and breakdown during sessions, with on-call shifts Monday–Friday 12PM–8PM and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent driving record.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience.
• Evening availability and schedule flexibility.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Per Diem Driver to operate our Mobile Medical Unit and support the HOTT team. This role involves safely transporting the vehicle to designated sites, ensuring its readiness, and maintaining a secure environment for staff, patients, and medical supplies. Our Mobile Medical Unit extends services to young people through the Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT) program, delivering compassionate, accessible care right where it’s needed most.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and transport the Mobile Medical Unit to and from clinical sites across NYC.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and in proper working condition before and after each use.
• Conduct light maintenance checks and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Provide on-site security for medical equipment, supplies, and staff.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs and assist with documentation as required.
• Support setup and breakdown of the MMU during clinical sessions.

Work Schedule

Remain on call Monday–Friday from 12PM to 8PM and on weekends, with flexibility for occasional additional shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Excellent Driving Record is required.
