Job summary

R.B. Hinkle in Sterling, VA is seeking a professional CDL A driver to support PEPCO projects, transporting poles, transformers, and equipment safely and efficiently.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain daily logs, and communicate with dispatchers to meet schedules while complying with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy commercial vehicles.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service and vehicle inspection requirements.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles, including trucks with trailers and dump trucks, safely.
• Transport materials such as poles, wire, transformers, and tools to and from job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document any defects.
• Load and unload materials and secure loads properly.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of mileage, fuel, and hours of service.
• Communicate schedules, routes, and deliveries with supervisors and dispatchers.
• Follow company safety policies and DOT regulations at all times.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance like checking fluids and tire pressure.
• Assist with other duties on job sites as needed, including flagging or material handling.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles, including trucks with trailers, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment, in a safe and responsible manner.
• Transport materials, such as poles, wire, transformers, and tools, to and from job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or maintenance needs.
• Load and unload materials and equipment, securing loads properly to prevent shifting or damage.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and crew members regarding schedules, routes, and deliveries.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as DOT regulations.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
• Assist with other duties on job sites as needed, such as flagging or assisting with material handling.

Job Qualifications
