R.B. Hinkle is seeking a professional CDL driver to safely transport poles, wire, transformers and equipment for PEPCO projects, complying with DOT regulations and company safety standards.

The role requires solid driving experience and a commitment to safe, on-time deliveries. You will operate trucks and trailers, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, secure loads, maintain accurate logs, and communicate with supervisors about routes and schedules.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years operating heavy commercial vehicles.
• Experience with PEPCO or utility transport preferred.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service and vehicle inspection requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in varying weather.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and trailers safely and responsibly.
• Transport materials such as poles, wire, transformers, and tools to/from job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document defects.
• Load and unload materials and secure loads.
• Maintain accurate daily logs (mileage, fuel, hours of service).
• Communicate with supervisors, dispatchers, and crew about routes and schedules.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance (fluids, tires).
• Assist with flagging or material handling as needed.

Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel for PEPCO projects, adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Job Responsibilities**

• Operate a variety of vehicles, including trucks with trailers, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment, in a safe and responsible manner.
• Transport materials, such as poles, wire, transformers, and tools, to and from job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or maintenance needs.
• Load and unload materials and equipment, securing loads properly to prevent shifting or damage.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and crew members regarding schedules, routes, and deliveries.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as DOT regulations.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
• Assist with other duties on job sites as needed, such as flagging or assisting with material handling.

Job Qualifications**

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy commercial vehicles.
