Job summary

50 R B Hinkle Construction Inc is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate a range of machinery at construction and infrastructure sites. The role requires following safety protocols and collaborating with the project team to meet objectives.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2–5 years of experience operating heavy equipment. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL may be needed for certain machines.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
  • CDL may be required depending on equipment and project needs.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints is a plus.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and other machinery safely and proficiently.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, lights, and other components, and report any maintenance needs or defects.
  • Load and unload materials, excavate trenches, grade surfaces, and perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and wear PPE at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other personnel on site.
  • Assist with manual labor when equipment operation is not required, as needed.
  • Follow project plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance tasks.

Job Overview

The Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment used in construction and infrastructure projects. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet project goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and other machinery safely and proficiently.
