Job summary

Market Express LLC is seeking a Driver & Owner-Operator Recruiter in Portland, OR to support driver hiring from lead intake through onboarding. You will screen and recruit qualified Class A CDL drivers and owner-operators, using a steady flow of warm leads and a structured recruiting lifecycle.

You’ll conduct interviews, communicate job and contract details, coordinate checks and orientation steps, and maintain candidate progress in Tenstreet while working toward weekly and monthly hiring goals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in transportation industry (Recruiting, Dispatch, Operations or Driving).
• 1+ years as a Recruiter or in high-volume sales or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong phone communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple candidates and meet recruiting targets.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and engage qualified Class A CDL drivers and owner-operators from active and passive leads.
• Conduct phone and virtual interviews to assess driver qualifications and safety records.
• Share job details including compensation, routes, equipment, and contract terms.
• Coordinate background checks, drug testing, and orientation scheduling.
• Track candidate progress and maintain ATS (Tenstreet).
• Support onboarding documentation and smooth transition for new hires.

Market Express LLC is seeking a Driver & Owner-Operator Recruiter to support driver hiring from lead intake through onboarding. This in-office role in Portland, OR centers on screening and recruiting qualified Class A CDL company drivers and owner-operators, using a steady flow of warm leads and a structured recruiting lifecycle.

You will conduct interviews, communicate key job and contract details, coordinate required checks and orientation steps, and maintain candidate progress in the company’s ATS (Tenstreet) while working toward measurable weekly and monthly hiring goals.

What You’ll Do

• Recruit and engage qualified Class A CDL drivers and owner-operators using a daily stream of active and passive leads from job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and industry platforms.
• Conduct phone and virtual interviews to assess driver qualifications, safety records, and eligibility.
• Share job details, including compensation, routes, equipment, and contract terms.
• Build long-term relationships with owner-operators and support them with onboarding documentation.
• Manage candidates through the recruiting lifecycle, including pre-screening and application completion.
• Coordinate background checks, drug testing, and orientation scheduling.
• Ensure hiring activities follow DOT regulations and company standards.
• Track recruiting activity and candidate progress in Tenstreet.
• Maintain consistent follow-up to meet weekly and monthly driver hiring goals.
• Work with operations and safety teams to support a smooth transition for new hires.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in the transportation industry in any capacity (Recruiting, Dispatch, Operations, or Driving).
• 1+ years of experience as a Recruiter, or in a high-volume sales or customer service role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong phone communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple candidates and follow up consistently in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort working toward recruiting targets and performance metrics.
• Strong sales and persuasion skills.
