Job summary

Nova Lines is seeking an Operations Support Assistant to serve as the primary contact for drivers in the yard and to support day-to-day operations. The role enhances communication between Drivers, Operations & Safety, Maintenance, and Inventory as vehicles flow through the yard.

The position emphasizes accurate documentation, timely updates on repairs, and proactive driver support. Applicants should have 2–4 years in related fields, strong organizational skills, and experience with TMS/dispatch

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in transportation, fleet ops, dispatch, or operations support preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with operational procedures.
• Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service and related regulations.
• Able to communicate effectively in variable situations.
• Maintenance knowledge is helpful but not required.
• Experience with TMS/dispatch tools and incident logging.
• Familiarity with Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Intake all drivers entering the building to determine their needs.
• Input required items on the communication sheet.
• Communicate driver needs to the shop as required.
• Update drivers on repair completion and process status.
• Release drivers once the process is completed and notify Operations.
• Assist with coaching and terminations as needed.
• Assist with Driver Retention concerns.
• Assist with equipment management.
• Inspect equipment being dropped in yard.
• Assist Operations as needed.
• Assist Orientation drivers as needed.
• Assign company vehicles and track fuel levels/returns.
• Monitor gate activity.
• Other duties as requested.
