Job summary

United Road Services, Inc. is seeking a Driver Manager to supervise a group of drivers/independent contractors in Ellwood, IL. The role emphasizes service, safety, quality, productivity and retention, with regular performance reviews and corrective actions.

You will collaborate with the Area Manager, HR and Safety to address issues and ensure FMCSA compliance. Proficiency in Excel and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Passion for workforce development.
• Experience in trucking is a plus.
• Excellent reading, oral and written communication.
• Able to work independently or in a team.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage driver performance by setting expectations, reviews, and corrective actions.
• Ensure safety and FMCSA compliance with drivers and coordinators.
• Resolve driver issues and maintain retention.
• Train and mentor drivers on tools and systems.
• Track schedules, time off, holidays, and payroll.
• Optimize driver utilization with load planners to boost productivity.
